Courtbarn Project Management was established by John Reynolds and the company is based in Northamptonshire and operates throughout the Midlands and Southern England.
John has over thirty years’ experience in the construction industry, twenty years at senior management level, the last seven of which were spent as a Commercial Director. John brings a wealth of knowledge to those seeking assistance with their building project. He has experience in the fields of Industrial and Commercial Development, but especially extensive experience in the residential field.
That experience also encompasses the personal self-build of two new homes, one of 2100ft² and one in excess of 2500ft², the alterations and modifications of a four hundred year old cottage, and alterations and extensions to the barn conversion in which John and his family currently reside.
Not only does John bring the experience of working within the Construction Industry on many varied projects, from residential developments to road and bridge works, factory units, office blocks, libraries and theatres, but also a deep understanding of the desire to build your own home that reflects your tastes and wishes.
Fees
Our fees are negotiable dependent upon the amount of involvement and advice that you require. An initial informal introductory e-mail or phone call costs nothing to establish whether our services are of interest and can be of help to you. A fee estimate can then be obtained by sending a confirmatory e-mail or letter setting out your plans and requirements.
As a guide, a site visit, review of any relevant documentation and preparation of a written report on a building plot would cost £350.
Similarly, a site visit followed by the preparation of plans, submission of planning and building regulation for a simple single storey extension would normally cost between £1250 and £1500 including the local authority application fees.
A full Project Management Package for a new home would be of the order of 10% of the build cost. The price for a watching brief consisting of regular site visits and short report would be based upon a rate of £350 per day.
The preparation of cost estimates and our other direct services are based around this rate, but a fixed price will be given for defined packages. Fees for specialist consultancy services will be negotiated on the client’s behalf.
