project completion

  • Completion

At completion of every self-build project we carry out a completion inspection of the works in conjunction with the architect and builder. From this inspection we draw up a snagging list that has been agreed between all the parties. The builder and contractors will then be asked to carry out remedial work contained within the list, and unless the work is of a major nature, given seven days to carry it out.

On completion of the remedial work, we issue a completion statement to all interested parties. The date of this document will set the date for final release of retentions to your builder and sub-contractors.

Administratively, we will collate the paperwork from planning, building control, your architect, the NHBC (where used for warranties). After a suitable period of not less than six months, but not more than two years we will, if requested, carry out a maintenance inspection and write to the builder on your behalf requesting a maintenance visit.
